Bal Poussière - Olooh-Concept

For its FW25 collection, OLOOH pays homage to the Mandinka culture passed down from generation to generation in the family of Kader Diaby, its founder and designer.

This season, OLOOH transports us to windswept desert plains and immerses us in the daily life of these noble people, whose colorful wardrobe contrasts with the sepia tones of the landscape. When we think of the Mandingo people, we immediately think of the characteristic blue that dresses these women and men under the Sahel sun, and which OLOOH has strived to work with a fresh perspective.

Bronze will once again have pride of place, in the form of Mandinka symbols which will adorn the clothing and accessories of the collection. The work of the brand's bronze workers is proof that it is possible to reconcile traditional know-how, modern design and an eco-responsible approach.

This collection highlights the Mandinka art of living, a rare creative wealth found in crafts, architecture and of course, textiles using unique materials.

Kader Diaby's creative process was influenced by the remarkable work of Nigerian architect Mariam Kamara, who draws inspiration from Mandinka architecture and strives to modernize it in an eco-responsible way.

OLOOH takes you on a journey through time and culture, inspired by the historical silhouettes and fabrics of the Mandingo people. OLOOH takes us on a journey through time and culture, inspired by the historical silhouettes and fabrics of the Mandingo people, and modernizes them in a trompe-l'oeil effect that transforms the bazin into leather, the loincloths woven into jeans and desert landscapes in cities.
